The sun kisses the horizon goodnight and the creatures crawl out from their daily slumber. Sitting here observing this changing of the guards, I cannot help but to allow my mind to weave in and out of the webs of thoughts that have been stringing together for many weeks now. Should I be so bold as to discuss them here? Would you hold judgement at bay and really "hear" what I am trying to say? I admit a certain amount of trepidation pulls back on the reigns. After all, I have been well trained to stand in line, to curl up in that little box designed for someone else's convenience, to smile, nod, and agree with concepts that are familiar and comfortable. However, that wild horse within pleads for release and to truly roam free. So, I will dive into dark waters and attempt to connect the meanings and purpose of these thoughts. Fair warning my friend, the sunlight is dimmed here. Will you join me?

As is on every one's mind-everyone who is honest with themselves-a powerful evil boils just under the surface of this great civilization and of humanity as a whole. Stop and stand still for a moment and you will feel the rumblings of a madness that threatens to burst forth, casting darkness upon all that is sacred and beautiful. Everywhere the eyes look violence erupts in once peaceful paradises. Every word spoken and every action taken seems to be words and actions of hatred, of tyranny. Sometimes I think I hear the very fabric of liberty and faith shredding under the pulling weight of hypocrisy, lies, and tyranny.

Has not this madness always plagued humanity? Is it not this same symptom of evil that has collapsed great empires before and have we not survived as a species? Of course, humans have always sought power at all costs. We thrive on power-both individual and national and will shed blood to maintain the illusion of control. Our ancestors knew the great sufferings and tribulations of these power struggles and shifts. A reality we now are beginning to understand in our own experiences. Yet, I believe the dark shadows dancing behind men of power are more sinister than before and, far more importantly, have access to resources that enable a firmer grip and a further grasp. What can be accomplished now in the name of tyranny rivals any attempts at world domination from the times of Ceasers, Czars, Dynasties and Emperors.

If we can agree that this evil lurks under our feet and behind our back door, then what can we do in response? Do not these violent swings of the pendulum eventually balance and the battle between liberty and tyranny continue on as it has numerous times before? I wish to say yes that these cycles of violence and peace will continue on, but a nagging feeling of doubt forever plucks me away from such a hope. I fear that we who breath air today are on the verge of a great battle. Let me make clear that I am not saying these are the end times. I am saying that technology has made possible what was before never imagined-a world power that smashes all liberty with it's tyrannical fists. You may be asking "ok, so what? I am just one person with no real power to sway the pendulum in any direction. What is your point?"

We cannot fully appreciate the beauty and significance of light, truth, and liberty until we have weathered gales and floods of a storm that we the people have brought upon ourselves in our slumber. Humanity has always been a torn and tattered species riddled with inner turmoils. We have always rejected the sacred in exchange for our lusts be they lusts of power, sex, money, entertainment, or approbation; however, humanity always found its way back to the sacred laws and forgiving arms of God. Will we now, or will we clutch to our pills and feel better fast books? Or, will we even stoop so low as to suckle at the bloody breast of tyrants in order to maintain the illusion of security? I believe liberty is from God and we, as a collective force, have turned our backs upon Him after slapping Him across the face. Do you believe it coincidence that a world gone mad is the same world whose guardians of freedom have embraced the seductive bosom of evil? Can you honestly say that you respect God, or have you too been lured into the philosophies of "if it feels good do it" and "just be a good person and all is well?"

Bottom line, the evil will break the surface and we will all suffer under it's heels if we continue on this path of slavery. Freedom is in truth. Truth is light. God is light. Are you a follower of truth, or of convenience? Goodnight to all who read this. And I am not ashamed to say God be with you.
